The Community Prosperity Fund Outcome Report
The Langley Foundation was honoured to administer the Community Prosperity Fund for Langley-based nonprofits, part of a $25 million investment from the Government of British Columbia to advance poverty reduction and social inclusion.
The response from our community demonstrated just how significant the need is. We received 33 applications requesting more than $5.3 million in funding. Through the Fund, we were able to award $695,000 to 11 local charities that met the granting criteria.
Behind every grant is a story of an organization working to make life better for people in Langley. We are proud to have supported projects that strengthen our community, create opportunities, and contribute to meaningful transformation and renewal.
The need remains great, but so does the commitment of Langley's nonprofit community to making a difference.

Meals on Wheels Langley
Through a substantial grant, The Langley Foundation, in partnership with Applewood Auto Group, purchased a much-needed delivery van for Langley Meals on Wheels. But the van’s impact begins even before the meals are prepared.
It makes approximately three farm pickups each week, bringing donated produce back to the Langley Meals on Wheels kitchen. From January 2025 to September 2026, these pickups helped recover an estimated 81,000 pounds of fresh produce that could be transformed into nutritious community meals.
Behind every delivery is a person, someone receiving nourishment, a friendly visit and the reassurance that their community cares.
This is much more than a van, and much more than a meal. It is food, connection and compassion delivered directly to people who need it.
- $60,000 Invested
- 138,801 Meals Delivered
- 81,000 Pounds of Produce Recovered
- Thousands Fed, Connected & Cared For
This is the difference The Langley Foundation is making in Langley as together we build the exceptional community we are fortunate to call home.

Encompass Support Services Society
The Langley CYAC – Encompass Services is a place that provides a child-friendly, culturally and trauma informed space where children and youth can participate in forensic interviews, support and advocacy. The Langley CYAC graciously received $100,000 from The Langley Foundation Prosperity Fund to support the infrastructure and renovations related to the Langley CYAC.
This space has been designed as both a place and a process bringing together multidisciplinary teams of professionals involved in child abuse investigations, intervention and treatment.
We served 54 individuals and families in our first year of operations. With continued growth in referrals and services, this space has been a welcomed addition to our community, and we are so grateful for this grant and the support of The Langley Foundation.

We appreciate the support from the Community Prosperity Fund that allowed an important expansion to take place in the Aldergrove area. The $4,500 award grant was used to pay the rental fee at the Aldergrove Heritage Society; it covered the fee almost for the year. This is where our fitness classes and caregiver support groups are taking place. We are planning to also open a community services office.
Our launch in Aldergrove has been an amazing success and we are already looking to expand on our initial offerings – the demand has been overwhelming!

Langley Food Bank
Thanks to the Community Prosperity Fund and the wonderful grant we received from The Langley Foundation, we were able to put the $79,000 grant towards a much-needed replacement 3 Ton Truck.
We have multiple daily pick-ups that we receive of produce, dairy and other donations.
None of this would be possible without a truck that can fit pallets!
The truck has also allowed us to accept even more donations that we would not have been able to in the past.
Sadly, more families need to access our services weekly. We have seen an increase in individuals and families turn to us when facing their food insecurity. We are now serving approximately 650 families each week between our Langley and Aldergrove locations.
Thank you so much for this incredible support!
We cannot do what we do without the help of those in our community and the incredible work of The Langley Foundation!

Ishtar Women’s Resource Society
Grant funding of $15,000 supported infrastructure materials, staff development resources, and training to strengthen Ishtar Women’s Resource Society’s organizational capacity and service delivery. Funding contributed to Mental health, First Aid training for staff, helping build confidence and preparedness in responding to health, safety, and mental health-related situations. A staff Burnout Workshop supported awareness of workplace stress, self-care, and strategies for maintaining staff well-being in the demanding field of violence prevention and support services.
Book and other professional development resources were also acquired to encourage ongoing learning, support the development of staff knowledge and skills, and reinforce trauma-informed, client-centred practices.
Together, these investments contribute to a safer, more supportive, and inclusive workplace while enhancing staff preparedness and the quality of services provided to women and children. Thank you again for your support for Ishtar Women’s Resource Society. It was appreciated.

Raphael House Langley
Raphael House is deeply grateful to The Langley Foundation for its $50,000 grant, which allowed us to purchase a dedicated van for food pickup across the Fraser Valley.
The van gives us a reliable way to collect both rescued surplus food and purchased food from partners throughout the region and bring it back to Langley. Since the van was purchased, we have collected more than 1 million pounds of food for local families experiencing food insecurity. Every trip means more fresh, healthy food on the shelves when families need it most.
The families we serve are facing extraordinary circumstances. As one parent shared with us, “The rising cost of food has left me with no other option but to skip meals for days so my daughter can eat.” Stories like this are why reliable infrastructure matters.
The van has helped supply food for nearly 40,000 family visits to Raphael House over the past two years, so that when families walk through our doors, there is food ready for them. Thanks to The Langley Foundation’s investment, more Langley families can put food on the table, and fewer parents are forced to choose between their own meals and their children’s.

Pathfinder Youth Centre Society
The $12,500 grant provided by The Langley Foundation through the Community Prosperity Fund has helped Infinite Expansion Foundation continue its mission of empowering youth throughout Langley and surrounding communities through mentorship, fitness, and positive youth development. This funding has supported our efforts to provide young people with opportunities to build confidence, improve their physical well-being, develop healthy habits, and establish meaningful relationships with positive role models. By creating accessible opportunities for youth to participate in fitness activities and mentorship, we work to reduce barriers, promote mental wellness, and help young people build a stronger foundation for their future.
The grant has contributed to our ongoing commitment to creating a safer, healthier, and more connected community where every young person can succeed, regardless of their circumstances. Through our programs, we strive to keep youth engaged in positive activities, encourage leadership and personal growth, and help prevent cycles of isolation, addiction, and violence. We are grateful to The Langley Foundation and the Government of British Columbia for investing in our community and helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth. This support strengthens our ability to continue providing programs that inspire young people to recognize their potential and build brighter futures.

Salvation Army Gateway of Hope
In September 2024, we were grateful to learn that the Langley Foundation would provide a significant grant of $181,000 to support infrastructure improvements at the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope.
The grant enabled us to replace several essential pieces of aging equipment, including our industrial dishwasher, commercial steam table, and walk-in cooler and freezer refrigeration systems. It also supported the purchase of new dining tables and chairs and the construction of a coffee serving station to increase storage and improve meal service efficiency.
These improvements have strengthened our ability to safely store community food donations and prepare and serve more than 100,000 meals annually in a clean, welcoming, and functional environment. With reliable equipment, adequate storage, and efficient service areas, we can better meet the needs of individuals from all walks of life while ensuring food services remain safe, accessible, dignified, and dependable. The Langley Foundation’s investment helps us maintain the quality of care our community deserves while supporting those who rely on our services.
The Langley Foundation has invested in our infrastructure to support services that directly benefit Langley residents, and we believe this partnership demonstrates the lasting impact of community investment in strengthening our community for years to come.

Sometimes, it is the extra thoughtful gift that turns ordinary possibilities into dynamic outcomes. That is how your $60,000 donation affected the Langley Rotary RibFest over the last 2 years.
The Langley Foundation Grant was especially effective for bringing specialized activities into the Kids’ Zone, including active painting, daily craftmaking, athletic activities and educational displays that inspired kids and parents to spend hours enjoying the sunshine and meaningful, bonding moments together.
It provided a safe place for parents to build family memories at no cost to their family budget. We received many thanks from our patrons for the hours of positive entertainment the Langley Rotary RibFest provided during our three-day event.
The grant was instrumental in changing a good time into an extraordinary experience.
Thank you for sharing this with us so that we could share it for the good of our community

Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society
The Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society was established in 2000, by Aboriginal Support Workers in the School District of Langley. The need was for support beyond school hours for Indigenous students and their families.
The LFVAS identified a need for additional infrastructure to manage the capacity of growth within our community. The Community Prosperity Fund Grant in the amount of $32,500 funded two office printers, new hardware upgrade, cloud servers, and tech set up and support for our society. This has been significant in connecting our families and the various services we provide. We are indeed grateful for this support.
