Building Community. Loving Langley

The Langley Foundation is proud to have been selected to administer the Community Prosperity Fund for Langley-based nonprofits.

The Community Prosperity Fund is a $25 million investment from the Government of BC that advances poverty reduction and social inclusion - announced on the inaugural BC Nonprofit Day.

Over the past month, The Langley Foundation received funding requests from 33 nonprofit organizations with funding requests for just over $5.3 million with only $695,000 to grant. We are pleased to announce the following organizations will receive the Langley Community Prosperity Fund Grant.

Paul Weme, Executive Director

A Foundation That Cares as Much as You Do About Langley

We care a lot about Langley. It's our home, too. From Downtown Langley, to Aldergrove, Brookswood, Fort Langley, Murrayville, Walnut Grove, Willoughby and Willowbrook, we want to make this the preferred place to live and raise a family in the Lower Mainland.

What we've seen is a gap in federal, provincial and municipal funding for key infrastructure projects in the Lower Mainland. The Langley Foundation is here to fill this gap for our communities. We work with key leaders on future, underfunded, and abandoned projects, to bring about tangible and lasting change where it's needed most.

Central Park will be a destination for all residents and a star attraction for the Lower Mainland. From walking and biking trails, children's play structures and skate park, arts and culture platform to indigenous plants and treed paths, it will be a perfect place to rest and enjoy what Langley has to offer.

Creating an eco-friendly Langley is essential for the growth of the Langley community. This project of adding parks and trails to the various Langley communities will ensure enjoyment for generations to come.

An investment in an endowment at The Langley Foundation is a gift that keeps giving!

3,598 Canadian soldiers lost their lives during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, one of the most defining moments in Canada’s history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unity continue to shape the legacy of our nation.

33 Charities applied for our grants requesting $3.5 million in aid. We were able to grant $695,000.

When you picture Langley, you might see children playing in our parks, families gathered at community events, local businesses fueling our economy, and neighbours stepping up when someone needs a hand.

In partnership with the City of Langley and the Township of Langley, The Langley Foundation is proud to offer opportunities for individuals, families, and organizations to purchase a commemorative or memorial bench within our community.

Ponder Park, located at 76th Avenue and 250 Street, is a valued natural space in our community but one that has not seen significant updates in many years.

Through the generosity of a local donor, the Foundation has received 14.3 acres of natural reserve land adjacent to Ponder Park, valued at $2,430,000. This remarkable gift ensures the preservation of important green space while creating new opportunities for the community to connect with nature.

The City of Langley is undertaking an exciting transformation of the downtown core along Fraser Highway, reimagining it as a vibrant, family friendly centre where the community can gather, connect, and enjoy a more welcoming urban space.

Creating and preserving green space in Langley is essential to supporting a healthy, connected, and growing community. Spaces like these provide opportunities for recreation, reflection, and connection, enhancing quality of life for residents of all ages.
