PROJECT: Arboreum Vimy Ridge
The Battle of Vimy Ridge, April 9, 1917
3,598 Canadian soldiers lost their lives during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, one of the most defining moments in Canada’s history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unity continue to shape the legacy of our nation.
In solemn remembrance, a ceremonial oak tree has been planted, grown from an acorn that originated from Vimy Ridge, France. This living tribute stands as a symbol of strength, resilience, and the enduring connection between past and present.
To further honour those who gave their lives, a “Boots in the Trenches” installation has been created, each pair representing a life lost, a story remembered, and a sacrifice that will never be forgotten.
Together, these tributes serve as a place for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude, for the bravery of those who stood, fought, and gave everything.
Lest we forget.
